The structure is inspired by a snowflake, like the "Eis" (German for "ice") part of "Eisfunke", and by a spark, for the "Funke" (well, German for "spark") part.
The outer sparks are laid out such that their inner beams form a non-continuous hexagon, or a orthogonal cube together with the main beams, if you only look at the right lines.
